SB-278 Emergency Rent Assistance & Eviction Protection

Friends, SB-278 was approved by the Oregon Legislature earlier today, creating a new 60-day protection from eviction for anyone already in line for rent assistance when the eviction moratorium expires on June 30th. This protection only applies to those who have applied for Emergency Rent Assistance at the time that the moratorium expires. Individuals unable to pay July 2021 rent who have not applied for rent assistance could face eviction. It is critical that anyone in need of rent assistance apply for help as soon as possible. Anyone in need of assistance can apply by visiting oregonrentalassistance.org. Please share widely through your networks.
