Energy Assistance Program at Community In Action

Updated: Apr 28, 2021

We are looking to assist low-income households in our community whom have been impacted by COVID-19. The Energy Assistance program can help people pay their heating bills such as Idaho Power, Cascade Gas, Propane, Wood, Oil or Pellets. We have several programs currently going, including Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program. We are also expecting to receive more funds for those who have been impacted by COVID-19 in the near future. See attached flyer in English and Spanish that we are currently sharing with the community – it is also available in Samoan and Arabic if needed. Please help us spread the word about our programs!

We have several programs open and a client can apply to each program once a year. I would recommend that they give us a call and ask us to see if they can apply to any of the other programs or if a new program has opened that they could qualify for. Also, if it is a household that will be/is disconnected, we have special funding to assist those households. Another option for clients, if it would be dangerous or harmful to a person to have their services cancelled, we can assist in completing and filing a notice with Idaho Power to prevent a shutoff. We especially ask clients who are seniors or disabled that rely on medical equipment to survive or perform daily tasks, as well as families with young children who are sick and would suffer if services were cut off.
